Abstract

This article presents academic considerations on the concept of pertinent and the way in which the guidelines that guarantee quality of Higher Education are assumed at the moment of thinking. These postulates derive from the research: “El Impacto Social de los Graduados de la Facultad de Comunicación, Información y Lenguaje de Uninpahu”. In this one, pertinent was postulated as a nuclear variable, articulated to employability, entrepreneurship and professional experiences. The analytical work that is part of the work of Unesco, appropriated by the Ministry of National Education of Colombia and specified in the requirements of the National Accreditation Council, is highlighted; however, in this work, joint progress must be established between Higher Education Institutions, in order to concatenate actions and establish more precisely parameters to determine pertinent. In the academic works of this order, there is a strong emphasis on the correspondence between training processes and the labor market, which limits the value of the concept, but at the same time, opens a scenario of objectification of professional experiences and application of competences. In order to measure quality, but, attending to theoretical considerations, should be extended to the contribution of social progress.
